Stockman’s Casino celebrated the successful completion of a year-long building remodel at a Sept. 18 ribbon cutting.
General Manager Lou Capone said the remodel features new carpeting throughout the building, an upgraded air conditioning system and significant improvements in the back of the house, including a newly-designed kitchen. Also, over half of the slot machines on the casino floor were replaced.
Capone said the cafe was demolished and rebuilt in a more classic style. The menu was redesigned around the “greatest hits” theme like cheeseburgers and chicken fingers with additional favorites returning on rotation each season. Daily specials such as Taco Tuesday are $7.77 for Winner’s Club members, while prime rib specials have returned for weekend dining.
“Fallon’s a great town and the ownership believes in this community,” Capone said. “We’re excited to have inherited a great team and a building with great bones, but it was a bit tired. So, we reinvested in it to bring it back to close to where (Jim) Peters had it when he sold it many years ago.”
Marketing Manager Megan Crossland said Winner’s Club members earn points as they play in the casino to use toward free play or cafe meal comps. Players in higher club levels can earn additional benefits, such as premium beverage service, a free monthly car wash or Holiday Inn discounts.
Some local favorite promotions such as “Hot Seat” have returned. Crossland said a recent bingo promotion allowed patrons to donate school supplies to receive bonus bingo cards. The casino plans to hold a similar promotion with nonperishable goods in the fall.
Shawn Odell, a controller with Boomer’s Sportsbook, said his Nevada-focused company had formed a partnership with Stockman’s Casino five months ago. Boomer’s Sportsbook recently installed a betting kiosk on the casino’s gaming floor, similar to those already in use in Las Vegas, Jackpot, Elko, Reno and Sparks.
Players can download the Boomer’s Sportsbook mobile app to their smartphone, which allows bets to be made anywhere within the state. Users must verify their accounts with valid identification in person at Stockman’s before using the app.
