A sportsbook that touts itself as the only independent operator in Nevada that is not owned by a corporate casino is entering the Reno-Carson market for the first time.

Boomer’s Sportsbook will launch its first venue at Casino Fandango in Carson City. Boomer’s Sportsbook will open at Casino Fandango on Sept. 1 and also hold a grand opening celebration on Sept. 4.

Casino Fandango says it is “bringing Nevada’s only independent sportsbook operator to Carson City.”

“Partnering with Boomer’s means our guests will enjoy a betting experience that’s authentic, not corporate,” said General Manager Matt Wetzell of Casino Fandango.

Boomer’s Sportsbook aims to provide an alternative in Nevada to sports betting giant William Hill, which was acquired by Caesars Entertainment for $3.7 billion.

Boomer’s Sportsbook received approval from the Nevada Gaming Commission earlier this year in July. Boomer’s Sportsbook has since started operations at Elko’s Commercial Casino, Las Vegas’ Ellis Island and Henderson’s Casino Valle Verde, according to CDC Gaming.
